The Four C's of Diamond
Diamond Size
Carat measures the diamond’s physical weight. While larger carat diamonds look more impressive, the visual impact also depends on cut. Carat helps indicate size and market value, but brilliance comes from cut first.
Cut
Cut determines a diamond’s brilliance and sparkle. It’s how well the diamond’s facets interact with light, creating fire, scintillation, and overall brightness. A well-cut diamond appears lively and radiant, regardless of its size or color.
Color
Color assesses the diamond’s whiteness, graded from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow).
Less color generally means a whiter appearance, but subtle differences are often invisible to the naked eye.
Clarity
Clarity evaluates the presence of internal inclusions or surface blemishes. Diamonds with higher clarity grades are rarer, but minor imperfections are usually invisible without magnification.
